A: 2007 National Conference sessions will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center, 1301 Second Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota. See the program for exact times and dates.

Continuing Education

Q: When will information about continuing education be available?

A: The disciplines for which we have received final approval from the accrediting institution will be posted on the National Conference Web site 30 to 60 days before the conference.

A: We are applying for credits for the following professions:

  • Counselors
  • Dental health professionals
  • Health educators
  • Nurses
  • Pharmacists
  • Physicians and physician assistants (CMEs)
  • Respiratory therapists

Q: Is there a fee for obtaining continuing education credits?

A: There is a $40 administrative fee that will be collected on site. Final continuing education information will be posted on the General Information | Continuing Education page of this Web site.

Registration

Q: How much does it cost to register for the conference?

A: Registration costs vary by date:

* Students are required to

  • Mail their payment AND
  • Enclose proof of their full-time student status with their registration. Proof of full-time student status must be one of two forms:
    • A letter on university or school letterhead from the registrar or counselor stating that the student is currently registered for nine or more credits
    • A tuition bill marked “paid in full” from either the spring semester before the conference or the fall semester of the conference

** Young adults are individuals up to 22 years of age. Young adults are required to:

  • Mail their payment AND
  • Present proof of age (e.g., photocopy of photo ID with birth date) when picking up conference materials on site

Q: If I can't attend, will I get a refund?

A: If you have to cancel your registration for the conference, the 2007 National Conference Registrar must receive your written instructions by September 30, 2007, for a refund less a $50 processing fee. After September 30, no refund will be given.

You may transfer or assign your paid registration to another participant. Send written instructions by mail, e-mail, or fax to:

Q: What are the payment options for registration?

A: You may pay for registration by the following options:

If you are paying by check, purchase order, or money order, you can register online but your registration will be marked as pending and will not be considered final until full payment is received.

Q: What does my registration fee cover?

A: Registration fees cover

  • Admittance to the plenary sessions, program area breakout sessions, and the exhibit hall
  • Attendance at special events that may be planned during the conference, some of which may require additional, nominal fees

Q: My agency will be paying via check or purchase order, and it needs to know your Federal Tax ID Number (FEIN).

A: The check or purchase order should be made out to Danya International, Inc. and the Federal Tax ID Number (FEIN) is 52-1981367. Please include "National Conference on Tobacco or Health" on the check.

Scholarships

Q: Are scholarships available?

A: A limited number of scholarships will be available for people who are unable to participate in the conference without financial assistance. Scholarship awards will be waivers of registration fees. Scholarship applications must be received by August 3, 2007.

Q: What are the criteria for application? How do I apply?

A: The scholarships criteria and guidelines are available on the General Information | Scholarship Program page of this Web site. If you intend to apply for a scholarship, please do so upon registration. To do this, select “apply for a scholarship” from the Registration page and submit. The deadline to apply for a scholarship is August 3, 2007.

Q: I have applied for a scholarship; does this mean I am registered for the conference?

A: Final confirmation of your registration is pending based on scholarship award status. If you are not awarded a scholarship and you applied before the early bird deadline (May 31, 2007), you will be offered the early bird registration rate.

Q: What is the deadline for applying? How soon after I apply will I be notified whether I have received a scholarship?

A: We must receive your completed application by August 3, 2007. All awardees will be notified the week of September 3, 2007, and will have until September 21, 2007, to reply and accept the scholarship.

Q: Are presenters eligible for scholarships?

A: Yes, but since presenters need to confirm their participation by May 25, 2007, we must receive all presenter scholarship applications by that date.
